"The one thing the four countries of the world with the lowest infant mortality have in common
is that the majority of women are attended to in birth by a midwife." Marsden Wagner, M.D.

With Gentle Birth Clinic, you have the benefit of consistent and reliable prenatal, childbirth, and postpartum care. Family-centered care brings together women, their partners and their providers to create opportunities for families to share in the childbirth experience. All are welcome - from the first prenatal visit through the birth and postpartum support.
All labs are done in the office, ultrasounds are done when appropriate. Consultations can be scheduled with area physicians if and when necessary and/or desired.
Maternity care includes a focus on education of the options in childbirth. The couple is in control - partners with the midwife in making responsible decisions for healthy, satisfying outcomes. Education is ongoing individually during visits and in group classes for additional childbirth preparation.
Your midwife will help you prepare a birth plan that meets your needs and ensures safe care. Development of a written birth plan helps the couple maintain control of critical decisions while giving the consulting physician and medical team specific directions regarding the couple's ongoing preferences.
Doula (labor support) services are available from professionals who remain with you throughout your labor and delivery. A doula provides professional female support, both emotiona and physical, to complement the roles of your partner and physician in a planned hospital birth. Doula services decrease the use of intervention and invasive procedures resulting in a decrease of Cesarean sections.
Labor, birth and recovery can take place in the comfort and security of home where institutional restrictions don't apply. Newborn
bonding and breastfeeding begin immediately with the encouragement to include the entire family.
